CICP’s Angkringan is Now on Episode 5! Discussing Diversity: Threat or Blessing?

  • Angkringan
  • 4 Juli 2024, 21.00
  • Oleh : admin

The fifth Angkringan episode brought a fresh perspective by featuring two outstanding speakers. Luluk Syahrul Kamal, as the first speaker, presented the topic Religiosity: Symbolic Threats Bridging Fanaticism to Prejudice. Equally captivating, Ika Hana Pertiwi shared her research findings on Interreligious Harmony. This theme aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) goal 16, which focuses on promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions.

The discussion became even more engaging as the speakers not only presented different findings but also employed diverse research methodologies. Additionally, the session was expertly moderated by Rika Iffati Farihah, a member of CICP’s pesantren research team.

The exploration of diversity as the main theme in this episode is highly relevant to SDGs goal 10, which aims to reduce inequality. Discussing the threats and blessings of diversity contributes to a deeper understanding of the importance of social inclusion and reducing prejudice.

The event, held on Friday, May 31, 2024, was lively and well-attended via Zoom, with 30 participants actively posing questions and providing feedback for discussion. This active participation demonstrates the enthusiasm for the topic of diversity, further supporting SDGs goal 4 on Quality Education by raising awareness and understanding of crucial social issues.
