School of researcher is a program facilitating individuals to learn about research and develop gain knowledge regarding indigenous and cultural psychology. School of researcher is a strategic initial step to develop an in-depth understanding of psychological theories and research methodology through a sequence of programs conducted progressively within a year. Trainings given throughout the whole process of School of researcher is certainly necessary for individuals to continue conducting research on the basis of indigenous psychology.
Knowing that research is a continuous process and not possible to be conducted by a small number of people, this way the Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology seeks to develop its human resources. Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology calls on students of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, especially postgraduate and undergraduate students to join in research activities. The School of researcher program is expected to facilitate individuals in creating new perspectives in psychology from their own culture.
School of researcher is held twice a year, namely in February and September. In February, the School of Researcher’s activities are intended only for postgraduate students, whereas in September, the activity is intended for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. The School of Researcher program consists of document admission, interview, and in-class sessions. In-class sessions are matriculation program and knowledge development of the new members about research field. In the session, the junior researcher will be guided intensively by experts to learn more about indigenous psychology, cultural psychology, cross-cultural psychology, qualitative & quantitative research methodologies, and cross-tabulation.
